Dog DeShedding in Hialeah, FL — Undercoat Removal at Home

Huskies, German Shepherds, Labs, Golden Retrievers and Corgis shed heavily in South Florida’s heat. A mobile deshedding treatment lifts the loose undercoat in the van — not on your sofa — with a bath, blow-out and thorough brush-out at your Hialeah home.

Help lift the loose coat that is ready to come out

DeShedding is designed to remove loose, dead coat—not to stop normal shedding. The groomer looks at coat type, density, current condition, skin comfort, and seasonal changes before deciding which steps are appropriate.

This service can be especially useful for double-coated dogs and dogs going through a heavier seasonal shed. Results vary, and ongoing coat maintenance may be needed as new hair cycles naturally.

What deshedding may include

Based on the coat and the confirmed appointment, service may include:

  • Coat and skin assessment
  • Bathing and thorough rinsing
  • Drying or coat blowout when appropriate
  • Undercoat brushing and combing
  • Removal of loose, dead fur
  • Final brushing and coat finishing

Nail trimming, ear cleaning, or other grooming may be added when booked and confirmed.

DeShedding is not the same as shaving

DeShedding works through the coat to remove loose hair. It does not automatically mean clipping or shaving a double coat. Shaving may not solve shedding and may be unsuitable for some coat types unless there is a specific reason and an appropriate plan.

If the coat is tightly matted, the skin is irritated, or the dog is painful, the groomer may recommend a different service or veterinary evaluation.

DeShedding or fur removal: which one should I choose?

Choose deshedding when the main concern is loose undercoat, a dense coat, or seasonal shedding. Fur removal is a broader coat-maintenance service for lifting loose and dead surface fur through brushing, combing, and related grooming work. If the difference is unclear for your dog, describe the coat when booking.

How mobile deshedding works

1

Describe the coat

Share your dog’s size, coat type, shedding pattern, matting, skin concerns, behavior, and Hialeah address.

2

Confirm the service

The team confirms route availability and whether deshedding, fur removal, a bath, or a full groom is the most suitable starting appointment.

3

Maintain the result at home

The groomer removes the loose coat that can reasonably be addressed during the visit. Regular brushing and future grooming may still be needed as shedding continues.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Dog deshedding questions

Don’t see your question? Call the team before booking and we’ll help you choose the right appointment for your pet.

Call (305) 916-6008
Will deshedding stop my dog from shedding?
No. Shedding is a natural process. The service removes loose coat that is ready to come out and can reduce the amount released around the home for a period of time.
Is deshedding only for long-haired dogs?
No. Coat type and undercoat matter more than visible length. Share your dog’s breed or coat type and current shedding so the team can advise whether the service is suitable.
Will my dog need a bath?
Bathing, rinsing, drying, and coat blowout may be part of the recommended deshedding process. The exact steps depend on the appointment and coat condition.
Do you shave double-coated dogs to reduce shedding?
Not as a routine deshedding method. The service focuses on removing loose coat. Any haircut decision should take the dog’s coat, skin, matting, and individual needs into account.
How much does mobile deshedding cost?
Pricing depends on dog size, coat density, coat condition, shedding level, behavior, and whether bathing or other services are included. Book or call for a current starting quote.
Should I shave my double-coated dog for the Florida heat?
Usually no. A double coat helps protect against sun and heat, and shaving can affect how it grows back. Regular deshedding removes the loose undercoat so air can move through the coat.
How often does a heavy shedder need deshedding?
Every 6–8 weeks keeps most heavy shedders under control, with an extra visit during seasonal coat blows in spring and fall.
